Inclusive Approaches to Teaching Exceptional Children

The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving the educational success of individuals with disabilities and/or gifts and talents.

CHADD is the leading U.S. non-profit organization serving individuals with AD/HD and their families. The site offers, in particular, an educators' manual for those working with children with AD/HD

Operates throughout Manitoba, supporting those affected by mood disorders, their friends, families, caregivers and supporters. They function as advocates and give professional presentations to community groups such as schools.

This community organization provides a resource library, a new parent kit, and a support group. They host annual events such as a fund-raising walk and See Me Beautiful, a workshop for teachers and parents about integrating children with DS into the classroom.

The Manitoba FASD Centre provides multi-disciplinary assessment, diagnostic and follow-up services for children and youth who have been prenatally exposed to alcohol. Referrals may be accepted from health providers, families, schools, or other agencies.
