Course Reserves - Instructor Manual

The University of Winnipeg has instituted a new Course Reserves system, Ares, in order to streamline the reserves process and ensure that all course readings are distributed in accordance with the Copyright Act and the University’s Copyright Policy. Using the new system, instructors can submit requests for a variety of resources – both physical and digital – and Reserves staff will ensure copyright compliance before making the items available to students. 

To assist faculty in using Ares and ensuring their readings are copyright-compliant, the Library has produced three brief videos:

• How to Use Ares
• How to Use Ares and Nexus Together

Please note that if you link to Ares items in the Content tab, your students will still need to click the ReserveReadings tab to activate their enrollment. Once they have done this, they can access Ares links in the Content tab for the remainder of the semester.
