Course Reserves - Instructor Manual

A basic how-to guide for Ares, our new Course Reserves system

Importing a Reserve Item from a Previous Course

One feature of the new system is the ability to easily request reserve items from previous iterations of courses.

In order to clone requests from a previous course, click on "Current and Upcoming Courses" on the Main Menu:

Then select the appropriate course that you wish to place reserve items in by clicking on "Course Home":

Once you are on the correct course page, you may select "Add Reserve Items" from the side menu:

On the "Add Reserve Items" page you will see current and previous courses going back 24 months. You can select to "Import Items" from any of these courses:

On the "Import Items" screen you will be prompted to select the items you wish to carry over to the new course. Once you have selected the correct items, click on "Import Items":

After clicking on the "Import Items" button, the items will be added to the new course and should be visible on the course page.

**NOTE that imported items will still be reviewed by Reserves staff prior to being available to students. Depending on the time of year  it may take staff  3 days or longer to review reserve requests. It is recommended to place all reserve requests, even imported item requests, well in advance of when they will be needed by students.
