About

This guide provides quick links documenting the accessibility features and capabilities of many of our databases. In particular, it links to the database providers'  Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT)TM

What are VPATs?

Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPAT)TM document the extent to which software products comply with accessibility standards as defined by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (29 U.S.C. § 794 (d)).. The VPAT format is trademarked by the Information Technology Industry Council (ITIC), which states "Manufacturers or venders declare the degree of conformance using one of four conformance levels: supports; partially supports; does not support; or not applicable. Note that, in a previous update of the VPAT, “partially supports” replaced “supports with exceptions.” See: VPAT - Information Technology Industry Council (itic.org)
